February is well and truly here, and the country survived the Arctic blast, and although it felt like January was 7,050 days long, there were no January blues here at WAA Chosen – we’ve had a great month!
We kicked off the month with our annual company conference, this year held in the stunning surroundings of Chamonix. Embracing our theme of bravery, so many people from the agency pushed themselves to new levels with skiing, snowboarding and dog sledding. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Dan Clifford, then presented the future plans for the agency and we heard from some of our partners including an insightful talk from John Keane at BBJ&K on media buying, collaboration and perception vs reality. This was then followed by our much anticipated ‘Xmas’ party which involved lots of terrible dancing, and perhaps a little too much wine. Overall, a truly incredible experience that provided a great platform for the year ahead.
And if we believed that we create a great environment for clients to get the best possible work, then that view was emphatically endorsed by Best Companies when it was announced that we have achieved three stars (the top accreditation) as well as the Investors in People Gold award. Best Companies is awarded by an independent organisation and involves objective independent employee feedback on workplace engagement. Additionally, only 2.3% of UK companies have achieved the Gold status from Investors in People, showing just how stringent the criteria is.
This month’s Training Tuesday’s saw our Social Media Strategist, Liam presenting the key insights from his recent trip to Social Media Week in London, and our digital gurus Johan and Ben presented Marketing Realities to the agency – looking at VR, AR and MR.
Following the success of the first ever edition of TPS Insider (designed, written and printed here at the agency) the Open Road team (our award-winning automotive hub) paid a visit to Romford for a photo shoot for the second edition of the publication.
Our trade hub High-Vis (also award winning but we don’t like to brag) attended Geberit’s annual Sales Conference in Warwick, gaining further valuable insight and helping to help shape strategy and content plans for 2019 and beyond.
Over to the Stir hub team who have been working on a new video for client Stonegate Pubs. As MPs continue to fight for Natasha’s Law and an overhaul of allergen labelling, we’re extremely proud to have been able to work on a new, internal training video for the pub chain which aims to train their staff on how to deal with allergen requests in their pubs – an area that is causing sleepless nights for many senior people in the F&B sector.
Finally, we’re pleased to announce that our Director of On Trade Experience, Matt Guest, has been chosen as a judge for the Morning Advertiser’s Publican Awards. He’s been picked to judge the ‘Best Drinks Offering’ category thanks to his extensive industry experience and his current role of leading the Diageo Bar Academy programme in GB, training 30,000+ bartenders per year.
And that was January. What will February hold? Follow us on Twitter to get the latest updates.
