Dear potential future colleagues,
We’ve all been affected by Covid-19 in different ways. Some positive (new ways of working). Some socially engaging (I’ve met everyone’s child and/or pet over Zoom – including one colleague’s particularly noisy budgie). Even my dog is now on first name terms with everyone I work with!
Of course, the coronavirus pandemic has also presented many of us with some extremely difficult circumstances – both in our personal and professional lives.
As an agency that was working at home throughout the lockdown restrictions, we were able to witness a genuine strengthening of our team spirit. For those of you looking at our website with a view to ‘getting to know us’ before reaching out… here’s an overview of our approach to recent events. And, by the way, we are still actively recruiting for live roles (and are also happy to meet people speculatively for potential future opportunities).
What we did to support our people, drive our business and ensure that we returned to office working.
Our MD, Dan Clifford, has hosted regular and transparent updates where no questions have been barred – our team has been kept informed of the business’ status every step of the way.
Group Finance Director Becky We’ve continued to set challenging commercial targets to drive, motivate and encourage our people. From Group Finance Director Becky’s weekly Brain Teaser, to ‘tests’ on our job management system – we’ve continued to challenge our team… and have a bit of fun. (The brain teasers have generated as many wrong answers and examples of twisted logic as right answers!)
We introduced ‘T.L.C’ (Thursday Lunch Club) where anyone could join me over a video link for a sandwich and a chat (with ‘work talk’ strictly off limits).
Every week, I’ve phoned every member of our team to check in on their personal wellbeing. And I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them all even better.
And 1-2-1s and professional development have remained as important as ever. We’ve completed formal reviews, three objectives designed to challenge, with bi-weekly line manager check-ins thereafter as part of our tailored 16-week business recovery plan.
And last, but by no means least (in fact, this is the most important bit) our team has shown incredible resilience in the face of the unknown. Everyone has responded to every challenge. We knew they were superstars anyway, but they really have gone above and beyond.
If you’re an individual within our industry who is in tune with the way we’ve handled the challenges of the last few months, then do get in touch. We’d love to meet you. Hopefully, all of the above gives you a little insight into how we behave when the going gets tough.
Consider this your open invitation…
