Account Director – On-Trade Leisure

We have a dedicated hub, Stir that specialises in the Food and Beverage sector. With specific expertise in activating brands across the out of home channels, working with the likes of Diageo, Britvic, Swizzels, Greene King and Marston’s – we specialise in influencing choice and enhancing experiences through brand strategy to category activation and digital. We work across on-trade activation, sales promotion, e-comms, PR and CRM. Combining commercial acumen and insight with creative flair and craft, WAA Chosen deliver innovative business solutions, compelling content and clever integrated communication campaigns.
What’s the opportunity?
We are looking for an Account Director who will lead the delivery and development of our key leisure clients including Britvic, Greene King and Marstons.
As well as demonstrating exceptional leadership skills you will have the capability to communicate and build good relationships directly with our clients at all levels. You must be able to able to proactively plan and run a number of concurrent projects for different client contacts and cut through information quickly to develop innovative and engaging messages clearly and concisely.
Whilst delivering predominantly below the line activations and promotions through the team, the key to success in this role is to unlock new opportunities and relationships to develop and grow our business with these clients and deliver target gross profit.
Specifically, your focus will be to develop and deliver targeted, effective communications for these clients therefore relevant sector experience and knowledge of either the on-trade, contract catering or QSR channels is a must.
Who might you be?
It is vital you have experience of developing and delivering cross channel communications in this sector.
The successful candidate will be well articulated, confident and passionate about the leisure sector. You will have the gravitas to communicate to senior stakeholders both internally and externally and you will be able to influence key decision makers.
Working with the Head of Hub, you must be able to contribute successfully at a strategic level, it is important therefore that you are a problem solver. Using insight and your experience you need to be confident of leading our team to find engaging propositions and innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges. You will develop and sell-in proposals for comms to engage customers at every touchpoint, deliver against clients’ objectives, create measurable ROI and, of course, make them famous within their business.
You will be a natural relationship and business developer and be able to demonstrate your personal experience of driving profitable growth in clients in your current role.
The right candidate will have experience of managing a matrix team. You will be well supported by a talented agency team.
You will therefore have substantial agency experience and at least one year at Account Director level. You may have worked client-side, but you are most likely to have worked in an integrated or below the line agency working on similar brands.
We are looking for someone who is passionate, ambitious, engaging and absolutely can-do, someone who our clients would trust completely.
Based on experience the salary range is £45K to £55K, plus bonus and competitive benefits.
This role is based at our head office at Wrens Court, 58 Victoria Road, Sutton Coldfield B72 1SY.
Please note that you must hold a valid, clean driving licence and have suitable business level car insurance as travel to client sites will be a requirement of the role. It is a requirement that the candidate has no more than a one-hour commute.
