September has been eventful to say the least, from the dramatic Bodyguard finale that had 10.4 million viewers breaking into a nationwide sweat, to Storm Ali that left us all a little shook up. Speaking of the shakes, there was plenty of that across our team thanks to the dizzying heights of our tree-top adventure for the WAA Chosen Company Update…
CEO Andy Wilson kicked off the afternoon talking us through exciting plans for our last trimester of 2018 and the start of 2019, as well as recognising the agency successes of the last eight months. From here we proceeded to Go Ape, where we got up to some serious high-top antics in the canopies of Cannock Chase, rounded off with a BBQ and beers (it’s a hard life).
Anyway, enough monkey business – down to actual business…
Our Creative Team have been rolling out effective, beautiful creative for client Cookes Furniture to support their Autumn / Winter Sale for use in-store, across their website and social media channels. Our Content Team also hit the ground running for intu Derby’s Autumn / Winter campaign, where Account Director Emilie was on-site to film key influencer and stylist Cleo Lacey. On the subject of collaborations, we welcomed Royal Mail Market Reach to our agency for a special presentation that explored ways in which to unlock direct mail opportunities for our clients with our clever sister company Send DM.
Over to Digital – these guys have had a fantastic month, notably with the fruits of their web design labours going live with the National Union of Students Menu Maker, a bespoke creation that allows NUS venues to create personalised menus across the UK.
And they’re not the only ones who have been busy! Account Director Kat got trigger happy for a photo shoot at VW Group’s National Learning Centre with client TPS to promote their Quantum Range. London was calling Account Director Jo, who headed south to enable media partnership opportunities for the design, specification and architecture industry on behalf of client Geberit. Meanwhile, Strategic Planner Claire was also in London with client Shell to facilitate our European expansion in France and Italy.
It’s been an exciting month for the Diageo Bar Academy too, beginning with our team organising and delivering a key industry summit where the team met with over 30 head trainers and European market leaders, and ending with Director of On-Trade Experience, Matt, jetting off to the Ukraine to speak at the Barometer International Bar Show. Matt’s now in Madrid at Diageo’s HQ meeting with Diageo Bar Academy Spain to help and support the program across Iberia.
We rounded the month off with our annual AdUnlocked event with our professional body, the IPA, where we invited 42 students to our agency and delivered a comprehensive introduction to the industry with an aim to inspire a new generation of marketing professionals.
And we can’t finish a round up without a round of applause to our accomplished team! First, to Social Media Strategist Liam, on his nomination for Social Day’s ‘Social Media Marketer of the Year’. To Sarah, on her promotion to Senior Social Media Account Manager and finally to New Business Development Executive Tash, who was named Star Baker for her dangerously tasty sausage rolls in our latest charity Bake Off!
That’s it for September, don’t forget to check back in October!
